Once Human Armor Mods Guide
Empty sockets make every armor set C-tier. Learn the mod system before you star a chest piece.
Armor mods in Once Human are half your damage output. A four-star Lonewolf set with empty sockets loses to a two-star Heavy Duty set with the right Shrapnel Carnage and Crit Amplifier. This page covers the socket system, the mods worth keeping, and the priority order when you cannot afford everything.
How the mod system works
Armor pieces have sockets. Each socket accepts one mod. Mods add bonuses: crit rate, weapon damage, elemental effects, reload speed, and Deviant output. The bonus applies to your whole loadout while the piece is equipped.
Socket colors and types:
- Red (Attack) — weapon damage, elemental damage, Burn, Frost
- Blue (Defense) — HP, shields, resistance, Sanity
- Yellow (Utility) — reload, ammo capacity, movement speed
- Green (Deviation) — Deviant performance, summon duration, mood
Match socket color to mod type. Some pieces accept any color.
