Once Human Tools
Requirements, controls, and a map of Nalcott so you stop guessing before you load in.
Not every Once Human question is a build. This hub collects the three reference pages people open before (or instead of) a silo: system requirements, controls, and the Nalcott map. Use them with getting started on a new account and with the console guide if you just unboxed a pad.
There is no in-browser damage calculator here on purpose. Calibration math changes with lunar mods; a fake spreadsheet would lie. The builds hub and Wish Machine are the spend tools that stay honest.
What each tool page is for
- System requirements — Steam minimum/recommended, the 100 GB SSD note, and why console launcher patches look huge. Read it before you tell a friend to “just download it on a spinning disk.”
- Controls — keyboard/mouse, DualSense, Xbox, mobile, first-person toggle, build camera, Cradle summon. Rebind before Lea Lab, not in the boss room.
- Map — Dayton Wetlands through Blackheart, winter biomes, where a first Territory Core should live, and what Rift Anchors / Worldstones are after the terminology pass.
Other “tools” that are actually other hubs
- Redeeming strings → codes and how to redeem.
- Official Discord / support → links.
- Current maintenance → patch notes.
- Which gun to star → weapon tier list.
If you opened this hub looking for a Trello, Once Human’s public board culture is weaker than some live-service games. Starry posts on Steam news, the official site, Discord, and Reddit. Bookmark those from the links page instead of hunting a stale Trello clone.
When the ocean expansion ships, the map page will need water. Until October 2026, Nalcott plus Way of Winter is the geography that kills you. Learn it, plant the core, then go play.
A 10-minute pre-flight
Before you queue Prime War with a friend on another platform, run this list:
- Confirm the PC box meets the recommended spec or that the console has a full install, not a rest-mode stub.
- Rebind Cradle summon and first-person on the controls page so Gel actually appears.
- Pin water plus ore on the map instead of a scenic cliff.
- Redeem leftover codes while the character is the one you will keep.
- Open the getting started checklist if this is still night one.
That is the entire point of a tools hub: five minutes of reference so the next two hours are a build, not a settings fight. Bookmark the three child pages. You will reopen controls after every camera patch and the map after every season rename.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Once Human questions.
Is there a damage calculator on this wiki?
No. Use the build pages and in-game tooltips. Public sheets rot after one lunar shop.
Where are keybinds?
The controls page, including first-person and build mode.
Can I run Once Human on Steam Deck?
Steam currently lists it as Unsupported. See system requirements for the PC spec that actually works.
Where should I build my first base?
The map page: water plus ore on Dayton Wetlands or Broken Delta, not a random mountain.
