Once Human Frost Vortex Build

Frost Vortex is the Once Human damage tag that wins peeks and marked-target windows instead of silo burn ticks. The current PvE default is still Shrapnel or Bounce. Frost is the side-grade you star when you already have a main, or when you actually play Prismverse / RaidZone. This page is the loadout. Rankings sit on the weapon tier list.

A Dev Blog for the 24 September 2026 update named SKS - Pathfinder as a new Frost rifle: guaranteed Frost Vortex on hit with a cooldown that each hit reduces. Until that patch is live, treat Pathfinder as incoming and star KAM ‘Abyss Glance’ if you want the tag today. Do not dump a month of Wish Machine pity into a gun that is still a trailer.

When Frost is the right call

• You already have a four-star-plus Shrapnel or Bounce family.
• You play PvP enough that Bullseye / Frost TTK matters more than silo AoE.
• You like status windows and can keep the Vortex rolling instead of spray-and-pray.

When Frost is the wrong call: night one after getting started, a console Meta with 2,000 Starchrom from CONSOLEDEV, or anyone who still dies to Sanity. Status rifles do not heal a 20 HP cap.

KAM Abyss Glance (live)

Gun. KAM Abyss Glance, Frost Vortex AR, 40-round mag. A-tier in PvE, a menace in PvP.

Armor. Heavy Duty for elemental / status. Mods: Elemental Overload, Status Amplification, Thunderclap / Secluded Strike as the shop allows. Full set notes on the armor tier list.

Calibration. Frost / status / cooldown lines. A Shrapnel Carnage socket on this rifle is a wasted slot.

Deviant. Festering Gel until you never die. PvP swaps toward Mini Wonder. Whisper is less useful when the target is a human who already looked at you.

Food. Elemental / weapon-damage cooks. Same survival rule: no polluted street meat on the way in.

Secondary. Recurve Crossbow for marks still helps. A Bounce bow as a true second main is a luxury two-family plan.

SKS Pathfinder (24 September 2026)

Published kit: guaranteed Frost Vortex on hit, cooldown, each hit reduces that cooldown. That is a “keep shooting and the status never drops” rifle if the numbers survive launch. After the patch:

1. Read the live tooltip. Dev blogs lie in the details.
2. If the guarantee is real, Pathfinder may out-KAM the KAM for PvE status uptime.
3. Do not six-star both in the same month. Pick the platform you aim better with.
4. Check patch notes the night of the 24th before you convert fragments.

Cradle overrides that mention frost / status / distant weapon mastery belong here. Copy from a current creator after the patch, not from a June clip.

PvP notes

Frost is already on the PvP page for a reason. Vortex plus a 40-round mag wins messy close-mid fights that a bolt-action Bullseye loses. It still loses a long peek to AWS.338. Bring the sniper as a swap if your Prismverse night is ridgelines.

RaidZone portable crafting (3.0.5) does not change the tag. It only means you can recraft ammo without a town trip. Console exclusive RaidZone servers were still being retimed after the August launch — confirm in updates.

Spend order

New account: Shrapnel or Bounce. Frost later. Returning account with a dead Shrapnel pit and a love of status: KAM now, Pathfinder on the 24th if the tooltip holds. Eternaland will not save a mis-starred rifle. The season will.

Star one Frost platform. Keep Gel. Recheck September 24. That is the build.
