Once Human Wish Machine Guide

The Wish Machine is Once Human’s long-term power curve wearing a carnival cabinet. Starchrom buys blueprint stars, and blueprint stars are what make a Shrapnel rifle or Bounce bow real. New Metas treat the machine like a gacha they can “try.” Veterans treat it like a monthly budget with a cap. This guide is the budget.

Codes, Battle Pass, Prime War, and events all feed Starchrom. Claim the codes list first, then come here before you tap F / G on the machine.

Two buttons people mix up

On the Wish Machine:

• Make a Wish (often F on PC) is the pull. Echoes of the Rift and limited banners live here.
• Blueprint Shop (often G) sells specific blueprints and fragments for Starchrom.

The beginner trap is pulling until something shines, then ignoring the shop. The correct loop, popularized after the 2025–2026 blueprint XP rework, is:

1. Spend into Echoes of the Rift until you are guaranteed a legendary weapon (about 10,000 Starchrom on the published pity).
2. Whatever gun you received, buy that same blueprint in the shop (about 8,000 more) even if it is not your dream AR.
3. Feed same-name copies into stars. Same-name XP is double. Random legendaries are half-speed fuel.
4. Only then chase the limited banner that matches your weapon tier list pick.

Star XP from one to six is tens of thousands of points. Four-to-five and five-to-six are the brutal steps (hundreds of legendaries if they do not match). You will not six-star seven guns this month. You might six-star one if you are disciplined.

How to spend Starchrom as a beginner in Once Human

Monthly Starchrom caps

Active Starchrom earn has a monthly cap that opens in stages (examples in 2026 guides: 15k → 30k → 45k → 66k, resetting on the 1st). Dark Chrome boxes that count toward the cap should be opened before uncapped event grants, or you waste the overflow. Battle Pass, collection, and some event Starchrom do not count toward the cap — claim those after you have banked the capped sources.

If you start mid-month, you may already sit at the high cap. Do not hoard capped boxes past reset if you are under the ceiling.

What beginners should buy

• One gun family from the current meta: Shrapnel (SOCR Last Valor / SN700 Finale) or Bounce Compound Bow. See builds.
• The armor set that supports that gun (Lonewolf for crit/shrapnel, Heavy Duty for elemental, Falcon for bomber). Rankings on the armor tier list.
• Mod dust and energy from weekly shops, not random furniture skins.

Do not spend Starchrom on a third melee “for fun” while your primary is two stars. Do not buy every limited cosmetic crate that shares a currency icon with Starchrom without reading the tooltip — Lightforge is a different, expensive cosmetic gacha.

Blueprint conversion and testing drops

World drops can be converted or used as XP. Conversion exists so a lucky pistol does not lock you forever, but conversion is not free value. Test a dropped legendary in the shooting range (or a trash silo) before you pour stars into it. If it is not on the weapon tier list and not a same-name copy of your main, it is fuel.

Collection progress still rewards extra blueprints. Spreading stars to fill collection is valid after your main gun is online, not before.

How this ties to seasons

Scenarios reset. Blueprints mostly do not. That is why this page exists next to scenarios. A Manibus six-star SN700 still matters when you roll Endless Dream. A pile of unstarred limited melee weapons does not.

Console Metas who arrived in August 2026 should not panic-spend the console-wave Starchrom from CONSOLEDEV. Run the Echoes pity once, shop the duplicate, and play the game. The getting started page assumes that order.

When the machine is done for the month, stop. Go run Prime War, feed Digby Boy, and cook. The cap will open again on the 1st.
