Once Human Shrapnel Build

The 2026 PvE default: pellet math, Lonewolf armor, and a sniper that deletes shields.

Shrapnel Build

Shrapnel is the Once Human PvE tag that still pays rent after every balance pass. Pellets multiply hits so “average” AR numbers become silo clears. This page covers the two platforms worth starring: SOCR ‘Last Valor’ for a forgiving primary and SN700 Finale for boss windows. Use it with the weapon tier list and the Wish Machine spend plan.

If you are on console week one, start SOCR. SN700 wants weak-spot discipline and a calibration you may not have yet.

Beginner SOCR Last Valor

Gun. SOCR Last Valor with Shrapnel Souvenir (or the current Shrapnel-named weapon mod). Attachments: large brake, reflex, tactical laser, extended rifle mag when the slots exist.

Calibration. Rapid-shot / crit-rate lines beat raw damage lines. If a calibration does not mention Shrapnel, crit, or fire rate, it is probably XP fuel.

Armor. Lonewolf set. Mods: Crit Amplifier, Deadshot, Shrapnel Carnage. A Savior helmet mix is the usual SN700 import; on SOCR a full Lonewolf is simpler.

Deviant. Festering Gel until you never die. Lonewolf’s Whisper if the room is a Prime War pile-on. See the Deviant tier list.

Food. Canned steak or the current weapon-damage cook. Clean water. Do not eat polluted meat on the way in (survival).

Cradle. Light weapon mastery, tactical combo, deviant emergency defense, shield protection. Copy, do not invent.

This loadout clears Manibus story, public events, and early silos while you star the gun. It is also the correct getting started combat plan.

Pro SN700 Finale

Creators in late August 2026 were posting nightmare shield clips in the 3M–12M range on SN700 Finale. Those clips assume:

  • Six-star or near-six-star blueprint (you cannot fake this with a grey SN700).
  • Calibration that feeds rapid shot / crit, not a random blue you found in Dayton.
  • Armor mix often described as 3 Savior / 2 Lonewolf plus a key helmet (Cage / similar unique).
  • Animal-hide perks rolled toward the tag.
  • Deviant swap to a weak-spot butterfly (Butterfly’s Emissary family, silo Sigma nightmare drop in some seasons).
  • Food: canned steak, bone-deviated drinks, whimsical drink for weapon damage, Stardust mushroom soup.

If any of those words are inventory you do not have, you are still on the beginner SOCR plan. That is not a failure; that is how Starchrom months work.

Magazines, ammo, and silo etiquette

Shrapnel eats ammo. Craft in bulk at the base before Lea Lab. Extended mags are not optional on SOCR. SN700 plays around reload windows — Savior / reload mods exist for that reason.

In public Prime War, do not stand in the group with a two-star SN700 “because the wiki said S-tier.” Bring SOCR or play support until the stars exist. The tag is S-tier. Your current star count might not be.

When to abandon Shrapnel

Almost never in PvE. Swap to Bounce if you hate rifles or you are on a bow-friendly controller. Swap to Frost/Burn if a patch guts Shrapnel (read patch notes before you believe a rage clip). Swap to Bullseye for PvP. Do not swap because a random crate handed you a glowing SMG.

Secondary: Recurve Crossbow with Spreading Marks still helps. It is a mark tool, not a second main.

Star this family, cook the steak, keep Gel on the Cradle, and your “what build do I run?” question is done for the season.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Once Human questions.

SOCR or SN700 for a new Meta?

SOCR Last Valor. SN700 is the boss upgrade after stars and calibrations exist.

What armor set for Shrapnel?

Lonewolf, with a Savior mix on SN700. Socket Shrapnel Carnage and crit mods.

Which Deviant?

Festering Gel first. Weak-spot butterfly on the SN700 nightmare plan. Whisper for Prime War aggro.

Does this work on PS5?

Yes. Same tag, same stars. First-person is a camera choice, not a different build.
