Once Human PS5 and Xbox Guide

Once Human launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 25 August 2026 as a free-to-play title with full cross-play and cross-progression against PC and mobile. If you are holding a DualSense or an Xbox pad, this page is the delta versus the Steam guide you already Googled. The download is free. Optional Starter ($9.99) and Radiance ($14.99) packs existed at pre-order and launch; they are cosmetics, a Meta Pass window, and convenience, not a required key.

What console actually added

• First-person perspective. You can swap between the original third-person camera and first-person on the fly. It is live in Once Human and RaidZone. Hip-fire and building both change; rebind on the controls page before a silo.
• Cross-play / cross-progression. A Steam hive can run Prime War with an Xbox Meta. Link accounts carefully — a code redeemed on PC will not pay a second time on PS5.
• DualSense. Haptics distinguish terrain (wet concrete versus sand). Adaptive triggers add draw weight on bows. Nice, not a combat stat.
• Xbox Game Pass. Day-one perks reported at launch included an exclusive avatar, Meta Pass benefits, XP cards, and rotating outfits. Check the current in-game mail; Pass catalogs move.
• 300+ hours of scenarios. Console did not ship a demo slice. Manibus, winter, SCP, Endless Dream, and the PvP modes are the same content PC had been iterating since 2024.

Once Human PS5 launch — gameplay, content, and new features

First hour on a couch

1. Install, create a Meta, pick Manibus unless a friend is already elsewhere. See scenarios.
2. Finish the tutorial crafts so Shop unlocks.
3. Redeem codes via Settings → Account → Redeem Code. Full button path: how to redeem.
4. If you bought a platform pack, follow the official “claim pre-order bundle” mail. Packs can attach to the wrong character if you claim on a mule — use the main.
5. Toggle first-person in a safe field, then plant a Territory Core.

Spanish and Portuguese need the console system language set correctly; Once Human follows OS locale for those two. English, French, German, and the rest are in-game language options as on PC.

Performance and storage

Console launch patches were large (PS5 launcher figures around 13 GB appeared in the 3.0.5 notes). Leave SSD headroom. If a friend’s server is full, you need their invitation code from the name card — the same as PC. RaidZone console-exclusive servers were still having their open schedule adjusted in early September 2026; read updates before you assume a mode is up in your region.

Build the same, aim differently

Shrapnel, Bounce, and Unstable Bomber still dominate PvE. Console aim assist does not make a two-star grey SMG into an SN700. Follow the weapon tier list and a build page. Bows feel better on DualSense because of trigger tension; that is a comfort pick, not a hidden damage multiplier.

Social and hive on console

Cross-play means text chat will include PC players who type faster than a virtual keyboard. Bind a chat shortcut, join the official Discord from the links page, and use pings in Prime War. You are not on a separate planet.

When the couch setup is done, you are a normal Meta: claim codes, house Digby Boy, spend Starchrom on one gun, and watch the Isles of Abyss notes for the October ocean expansion that hits PC, mobile, and console together.
