Once Human System Requirements
100 GB, an SSD, and a GPU older than a toaster — the Steam spec versus reality.
Once Human is a free download that still asks for a serious disk. This page copies the Steam PC spec (app 2139460) and adds console/mobile notes from the 2026 live game. If you fail the minimum, the getting started guide will not save the frame rate.
PC — minimum (Steam)
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 / Snapdragon X
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 750 Ti 4 GB / AMD Radeon RX 550 / Qualcomm Adreno X1
- DirectX: 11
- Network: Broadband (this is an online game; there is no offline campaign)
- Storage: 100 GB available
- Note: SSD is highly recommended
PC — recommended (Steam)
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 / Snapdragon X2 Elite
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6 GB / AMD RX 580 2304SP / Intel Arc A380 / Qualcomm Adreno X2
- DirectX: 12
- Storage: 100 GB, SSD strongly implied
These numbers are the store page, not a magic esports preset. Nalcott with Deviants, hives, and Prime War is heavier than a 2016 1060 benchmark video. DLSS / XeSS / Reflex appear in the detected tech list; turn them on if you have them. Close overlays if the shader stutter feels like a freeze.
SSD and patch sizes
The 100 GB line is the install. Patches on top are rude. Version 3.0.5 published a ~13.65 GB PS5 launcher figure with an 84 MB in-game delta; PC notes have shown 10–22 GB launcher hits and tiny client hits, plus Steam sometimes downloading twice if the depot lags. Leave free space. A spinning disk will make Territory Core loading feel like a second survival meter.
Steam Deck is listed Unsupported. Do not buy a Deck for this title based on copium.
Console
PS5 and Xbox Series shipped 25 August 2026. If the box is a Series S or a base PS5, expect the team to keep shipping large launcher updates. Internal storage plus a fast external SSD is the practical plan. See the console launch recap for week-one download pain.
Mobile
iOS and Android have been live since 23 April 2025. The Play Store listing is a multi-gig live-service client, not a 200 MB casual. Use Wi-Fi for first install and for the 1–2 GB patch notes that show up beside PC maintenance. A phone that throttles in the sun will not enjoy Red Sands plus first-person.
Settings that buy frames
- Cap FPS in crowded hives; uncapped 4K on a 1060 is ego.
- Drop shadows and volumetric fog before you drop resolution to soup.
- First-person can feel heavier than third in some scenes — toggle on the controls page if you are hunting frames, not immersion.
- Base building camera is a slideshow on minimum GPU if you flood the core with lights. Build practical, then pretty (base building).
Network
Online co-op and PvP need a stable connection. Hotel Wi-Fi plus RaidZone is a highlight reel for someone else. Cross-play does not change the ping math; it only adds PC players to the lobby.
If you pass recommended spec, skip this page and go redeem codes. If you fail minimum, this is the whole conversation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Once Human questions.
How big is Once Human on PC?
Steam asks for 100 GB free. Patches add more. Use an SSD.
Can I play offline?
No. Broadband is in the spec because the game is online multiplayer.
Does it run on Steam Deck?
Steam lists Unsupported. Treat that as no.
Is 8 GB of RAM enough?
It is the minimum. 16 GB is the recommended line and the one that matches hive fights.
